Lunch

When it comes to lunch it easy to be stuck with a £3 meal deal of a sandwich, crisp, and a drink or maybe you'll go for a salad. These are a great choice however if you're looking to loose weight try cutting back on the mayo and sauces and stick to the salad and swap the crisp to a carrot or fruit bag maybe even make it at home (to save that extra penny or £15 by the end of the week). £60 a month excluding weekend!

I've been asked a few times what's the difference between vegetarians and vegans. I've chosen to explain the 4 main food eaters.

Omnivore - Eat anything and everything they want unless they have allergies or are picky between a pig, dog, fish or a cow. Meat eaters should be aware that white meats such as chickens can stay in your body for up to a week and red meats, for example, beef can take up to 2 weeks to digest.

Idea 2 - Chicken and Quinoa/rice

Idea 3 - (Sweet Potato) jacket potato

Pescetarians - Won't touch any land animal nonetheless will eat any animal under the sea.

Some pescetarians do not eat dairy so this is something to keep in mind when having a BBQ. If your Dr has warned you about type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure or obesity this may be the best diet for you, especially if you're unable to cut out meat completely. On the other hand, fish is high in Mercury so eating no more then 4 oily fish such as salmon, tuna mackerel or herring a week will eliminate high toxin's left in the body.

Vegetarian and Vegan - The only difference between the two are that vegetarians eat dairy products and eggs where as vegans avoid anything from animals. These types of diets can prevent or treat certain diseases, including ischemic heart disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, certain types of cancer, and obesity. Excessive consumption of dairy products can cause high cholesterol and saturated fat which can increase the risk of heart disease, and cause other serious health problems. Vegans need reliable sources of vitamin B-12, that can be found in fortified foods or supplements. The best thing about being vegan is eating out (sarcasm).... It's a headache. On the other hand, I know exactly what is going into my body since I have to cook.

In conclusion a Pescetarian/Vegetarian/Vegan diet is best if you are looking to loose weight and avoid certain diseases keeping in mind too much fish is high in toxins. Eggs is a good source or vitamin B-12 if you want to avoid supplements however there is B-12 in some makes of dairy free milks. If I had the choice between taking medication to keep my blood pressure down or B-12 supplements to avoid diseases... B-12 pills sound better to me.
